Decided to try something different on our way through FL. stopped here ended up being Jamaican food. I had oxtail which was delicious!!!. my mother and nephew had roasted chicken with beans and rice they said theirs was also very good. Try the Kola drink it tastes like cream soda with some spices!! appears to have a tiki like bar outside probably used at night when it is warm. Staff nice. Place clean.

Delicious Caribbean food. My husband and I went for the first (but won't be the last time) today for lunch and really enjoyed it. Ordered a little bit of everything and had plenty leftover for dinner. The beef patty and coco bread were fresh and perfectly paired with traditional cream soda. It had just enough spice that my husband didn't die of spice overload. If you want to have spice you must try their jerk chicken. We also had the chicken curry which was moderate in taste, but my husband loved it. my favorite must have been the beef oxtail. Tender and full of flavor!

I love eating the escovich fish here, every Saturday I come by to get some. The reason they lost 2 stars from me is because when I order stuff on the menu they sometimes tell me they don't have it. The food is good but the service can step it up.

Nice Patties! Fish and Veggie are my favorites. Love the Rice and Beans! You won't be disappointed if you like authentic Caribbean Cuisine.

Great food - the jerk chicken is superb. (Make sure to ask for extra gravy.) The service at the Winter Garden location is MUCH friendlier than the one on West Colonial. Located at the corner of SR 545 and Stoneybrook Parkway in the Avamar Crossings plaza that is anchored by Hagan O'Reilly's Irish pub. Carribean Sunshine is tucked away in the far corner.

Try the shrimp & roti. Very good. The roti doesn't have peas, but it was very good. The curry was fresh. They sell the shrimp and roti separate, so you have to ask them to roll it for you.

I happened upon this treasure in west Orlando today. I was in search of food and a gas station when I spotted the Avamar Crossing plaza and decided to investigate. Lured by the sound of Caribbean music, I found this place...and boy am I glad that I have! We were greeted by the awesome Claudine and given menus. After a quick glance through, I knew that I wanted the red snapper. It was cooked to order so there was a 20 minute or so wait but I didn't mind. Turns out, it was well worth the wait! The fish and veggies had just the right amount of spice and the fried plantains were just right. After finishing the meal, we hung around awhile chatting with Claudine, learning more about the food and events at the restaurant. Since some time had past, allowing some digestion, I was ready for dessert. The Mama's Red Velvet was highly recommended by another customer who had just come in to pick up a call in order. Red velvet is one of my favorites so it didn't take any persuasion for me to choose it. It was quite good - very moist and very nice & creamy frosting. Overall, I was very pleased with the lunch and look forward to returning...especially to enjoy the events that take part on the lovely patio that extends from the side of the restaurant. Ah yes, a little bit of Jamaica right here in Orlando. Today, I thank my curiosity for leading me to venture into the Avamar Crossing plaza!

I ordered their Blue Mountain Curry Chicken. ($7.25) This came with a mixture of (litely spiced?) rice w/ a few pinto beans, 2 slices of plantains, a sour dough(?) roll along with an interesting cabbage slaw medley. I personally don't care for chicken entrees that are served bone in. I feel it makes every bite a "head's up moment" for that unwanted, not so quite surprise and inconvenience. Thusly distracting me somewhat from enjoying the meal effortlessly; but that's my issue. There was both breast meat and a drumstick (bone in) and a few stray bone pieces. My order came with a mysterious side of catsup. Not sure what it was provided for? The BMCurry is a good curry blend that will satisfy your need / fix for curry. Not hot spicy at all, and no hot sauce on the tables. A few potato pieces were found in the mix too. The cabbage slaw was way over cooked (or carried over from yesterday?) but was okay. Nothing to YELP on delirious about. Cabbage, broccoli, some corn and itty-bitty carrot pieces - nothing new, no "island spices" . Now the plantains were phenomenal! Well, the two slices were really good. The roll, was pretty dense bread, yet unfortunatly I missed out on the flavor part. Served with no butter, that may have helped? Oh, no salt n pepper on the tables and actually nothing really needed either. Had a few of the coconut shrimp with their Island Dip sauce and sweet potato fries. ($9.99) Try this just for the Island dip sauce. Interestingly delicious mixture of soy and vanilla perhaps? It really is tasty stuff/ combination if that is what it is. The coconut shrimp were as crunchy as the picture looks, and the SPFries were a little disappointing, fried but only to chewy fries chewy. I would rather they were cooked a little longer to a crispier bite experience. Very clean dining area but only few tables in the front dining area. There is a larger dining area in the back w/o any windows - sorry no pictures- but we were in the mood for windows. Looks like they can really throw a good time with the outdoor tikis and dancing area!
